Old Business:

Tree City USA/Growth Award:  Evelyn submitted the applications for the Tree City & growth awards in December.   Announcements are usually made in the spring.

Pruning- really need a pruning.  Can do when it's cold or wait until summer to avoid the budding.  Brenda would like to do a Pruning workshop soon also.

New Business

Brenda distributed "Releaf Conference" flyers.   VG approved for our budget to pay for Linda Keeling's registration to attend on behalf of Village Green.  Brenda is speaking at the conference, so her registration is free of charge.

Thursday, Feb 1st - photo op 1:00 PM - can some of us come.  (Dave Seymour suggested.  Mark Molinaro to come down from Albany).  Location TBD.

Brenda talked to Dan (highway man),  the London Plain behind village hall needs to be moved.   Where should it be moved?  It can't be moved twice - it won't survive 2 moves.

Bakeless Bake Sale:  Insert in the water bill for the bakeless bake sale.  Tree care tips will also be included.

Grant information was turned into Cindy today to include salary information - Tree Planting grant.  Needed to provide information to receive funding.

NYS DOT opportunity:  Village Green can apply to the NYS main street planting program with the NYS DOT.  Send a letter from Mayor and they'll send a landscape architecture.  They'll determine locations for planting on state roads.  They'll plant 40-50 trees, and will even put in grates. Letter will be drafted for Mayor to sign ASAP.  Jen will write.

Certificate of Recognition for local businesses who plant trees/beautify their businesses:  An idea was presented by Jean to present a Certificate and recognition for local businesses who have taken initiative to plant trees and beautify.   The certificate can be given out at our annual Arbor Day event.  Additionally, the businesses name will be included in a press release and added to the website.  The decision was made to present it to one commercial business in the Village each year.

Spring Planting: Location for Spring Planting - follow the grant (Cambridge, Firehouse lane, & Park).  Priority is Firehouse since sidewalk is completed.
