Minutes of Last Meeting

The minutes from the last meeting were not reviewed.

Old Business:  

Grant Application  The committee is still awaiting the Grant contract with specific details from the DEC on administration of the grant the committee received.  This should arrive in the next few weeks.  

Arbor Day Celebration - The Arbor Day celebration, commemorative tree planting and spring planting were all successful.

Treasurers Report -No formal report was provided.

Website:  The website glitch is fixed and the website is currently up to date and running smoothly.

New Business:

Planting Update - To date, the Village Green committee has planted 108 trees throughout the Village of Red Hook!

Press Coverage - concerns were voiced about our lack of local press coverage for our DEC grant and Arbor Day celebration.  Jen will follow up with reporters from the Poughkeepsie Journal to determine the best way to receive more coverage for our events.

Fundraising - nothing to report at this time. 

Meeting - Instead of our meeting next month, we will hold a "Prune in June" workshop and hands-on pruning throughout the village.  This will be held during the same time as our regularly scheduled meeting time starting at 7:00 at the Village Building and commencing through the village.

Tree-Tags - Brenda ordered the new tags to be embossed.  These will be completed and added to the trees soon.

Next Meeting:

Our next meeting will be a "Prune in June" event!  Come at 7:00 p.m. for a half hour pruning workshop, and then attendees will go out into the village and prune some of our trees.  Bring your hand pruners and your gloves!
