Minutes of Last Meeting
The minutes from the last meeting were not
reviewed.
Old Business:
Grant Application -the committee is
waiting to hear about the status of the grant application. We should
hear before Arbor Day.
Treasurers Report -No treasurers
report was available at the meeting. Evelyn will have an updated report at
the next meeting.
Website - the website is currently
up to date, will add "Tree City USA" letter to website soon.
New Business:
Tree pruning/maintenance - Brenda
circulated a list of tree removals, planting requests and new planting
ideas.
Arbor Day Celebration - The Arbor Day celebration will consist
of the spring planting, the commemorative tree planting (see below), and an
outreach event sponsored by Greenspace Enterprises. They offered to
participate in the celebration and suggested a demo and/or tree planting at
Mill Road School. Additionally, the Town of Red Hook will be handing out
free tree seedlings to attendees of the Arbor Day event.
Commemorative
Tree - A commemorative tree (Copper Beech) will be planted in honor of Caroline Rider's
mother at the Arbor Day celebration. It will be planted in Abrahams Park.
Spring
Planting - Spring planting will take place on the same day as the
Arbor Day celebration. About
25 trees will be planted during that day.
Tree
City USA - The Village of Red Hook has, once again, been named as a
"Tree City". Brenda and Evelyn will attend a luncheon in
Albany on April 7th.
Fundraising - nothing to report at this time.
