Meetings Open the Meeting The meeting was called to order at 7:11 p.m. by Brenda. Minutes of Last Meeting The minutes from the last meeting were not reviewed. Old Business: Grant Application -Evelyn Krueger, Brenda Cagle and Linda Keeling have been working on the Grant Application for the 2005 Tree Planting Cost-Share Grants for Urban and Community Forestry in New York State which is Due October 31st. The Grant committee will meet again on 9/26 to finalize some of the details. A short brainstorming session ensued to locate possible planting sites to best use the grant money if/when received. Hardscrabble Day was well attended and fun for all. Village Green raised $76 in donations. A picture of some Village Green members was published in the "Gazette Advertiser". Linda Keeling brought a copy to circulate at the meeting. Treasurers Report -No treasurers report was available at the meeting. Evelyn will have an updated report at the next meeting. The Tree Inventory list (Spreadsheet) has been updated. 15 tree removals and 17 prunings need to be completed this fall. VG will give a list to Central Hudson of "underwire" trees (23) that need to be removed or pruned. New Business: Fall Planting Day: is usually the last weekend in October. A discussion of how many trees to plant took place. It was determined that between 12-15 trees would be planted during this fall.
Brief discussion about the type of trees for the Site Plan for the parking lot across the street from the Village Building. Students for planting - a guidance counselor at Red Hook HS is interested in having her students get involved with planting with the Village Green. Joanna will contact her to learn more. Motion to Close Meeting · The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. Next Meeting: Our next meeting will be held on October 18, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. |
