Meetings
Tuesday, July 29, 2003 Meeting Minutes
Attendees: Barbara Campo, Evelyn Krueger,
Linda Keeling, Jan Schiff, Joanna Fivelsdal, Jeanne Duntz, Dave Seymour,
Brenda Cagle.
Open the Meeting:
 | The meeting was opened at 7:15 p.m. |
Outreach Committee
 | Barbara Campo reported that Chris Staubi
met with a 3rd grade teacher (and other committee members) concerning
involvement of the 3rd graders at Mill Road in our Arbor Day Celebration.
Ideas include a rally at the Memorial Park, activities at Elmendorph, and
working with the Chamber of Commerce on the planters in the village. Linda
Keeling suggested that the students do a composting project at the school.
Chris should move forward with this effort. |
Fundraising Committee
 | Evelyn Krueger is looking into
fundraising ideas. One idea mentioned was a "Chocolate Bash." Also
mentioned was Hyde Park's Garden Tour, although no information was
available on its success. |
 | A meeting is needed with the Greens
Committee, as previously discussed, to formulate a policy on memorial
donations. |
 | Dave Seymour reported our total fund
balance (from two separate accounts) to be approximately $10,000. |
Greens Committee
 | Evelyn and Dave plotted 27 sites for
tree planting. Species of trees must be decided. |
 | Brenda Cagle attended the Re-Leaf
Conference in Utica and spoke with the coordinators of the Street Tree
Survey Project we are considering. The cost is now estimated at
$1,000-$1,500. Concern was expressed by Evelyn that surveys have been done
in the past, but the information was never used. Brenda will talk to the 2
communities who participated in this pilot project last year to see how
they are using the data and whether they considered the survey to be
worthwhile. A decision must be made soon, since the survey would be done
in September. |
 | A better map of Red Hook streets is
needed. Barbara will contact the Environmental Management Council and the
County Planning Committee to see if they have a good map of Red Hook. A
joint Greens/Fundraising committee meeting will be organized. |
Media Committee
 | Jean researched archival storage
materials and determined the required materials would cost $104. The
expenditure was approved. |
Next Meeting:
 | Tuesday, August 26th, at 7pm in the
Village Hall. |
Motion to Close Meeting:
 | The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. |
