2005 Year in Review

  • Applied for and received Tree City USA status

  • Applied for and received Tree City Growth Award

  • Planted 12 trees in the spring; 4H helped.  About 20 volunteers participated in the planting day.

  • Planted 15 trees and about 200 flower bulbs during the Fall Planting Day.  The Highway department and 4H helped.  About 20 volunteer participated in the planting day.

  • Determined tree maintenance requirements using a spreadsheet and input from the highway department and sent out bid packages.

  • Partnered with Central Hudson; provided them with spreadsheet data for trees with maintenance concerns that were under Single phase and 3 Phase wires.

  • Applied for DEC grant to plant 100 trees.

  • Organized bakeless bake sale.

  • Maintained Village Green website

  • Participated in Hardscrabble Day - offered pH soil test to residents.

  • Attended New York State's Urban Forestry Conference

  • Worked with the Village Planning Board on several issues.
